Womens' Day Celebrations with TYSA (pdf)

Response by TYSA
on Post Election Violence (pdf)

Sport and Peace
Throughout the year, sports fields are thronged with children, youths, women and men to watch various sporting activities. This offers children sense of normalcy and security Trans-nzoia and its neighbours are always in conflict over cattle rustling.
Sports is being used to Supports process of dispute resolution and confidence-building between communities while developing  critical aspects for young people, tolerance and bridges ethnic divides.

Currently we are involved in the search for peace after the post election violence in Kenya. At the Kachibora Internally Displaced Persons camp, we are running a daily sports program.
Even in the slums areas especially in Kipsongo, TYSA is working on a visibility study on how sports can be agent of social change.

Sport and Education
Through its Sports and Education program, TYSA sponsored especially Girls who are talented in sports bit from poor families to go through secondary education. Wiyeta girls, St.Anthony Boys, and Manor House Secondary schools are among that support this initiative.
For the last five years, we have demonstrated that those students involved in sports show lower rates of school dropout. Over 45 students have benefited from this program.  Majority of them are playing for premier league clubs in Kenya including the national teams especially in ball games.
