Economic Empowerment
TYSA has not been lending either for repayment and or for profit. The funds and materials have been in form of grants. Funds from well wishers as and when available are used in the following ventures, among others:
- Bicycle transport (Boda Boda).five groups; Kaplamai, Wiyeta, Bwake, Makutano, Aruba among others were assisted in purchase of Bicycles and construction of Bicycle shades between the year 2002-2006.
- Brick-Making. Wiyeta group received support to start up their business in 2002.
- Aforestation and tea nurseries initiative by self help group, among others have received support from TYSA between 2003-2006.
- Small retail business e.g. mitumba, grocery, food preparations, repair work, have received support to start up. Among the groups are sitatunga, Bonde, Saiwa.
- Support for sporting and recreation activities, e.g. balls, nets, boots, uniforms, etc for various groups e.g. Sibanga, Sinyereri, Wiyeta, Yuya, Chera combined. At competitive levels, TYSA has sponsored tournaments.
- Education and Training services .TYSA has supported the education of over 45 students at various schools e.g. Wiyeta Girls, Kapsara secondary school, Cherangany Boys, and even for Higher education at Nairobi and Makerere Universities.
