Economic Empowerment
TYSA has not been lending either for repayment and or for profit. The funds and materials have been in form of grants. Funds from well wishers as and when available are used in the following ventures.

Capacity Building
Over 200 community groups have undergone the following training: HIV/AIDS awareness, Leadership, Sports Management, Community development, Business Entrepreneurship, Youth Development through Sports Course, sports and disability.
Sport and Child Protection
TYSA works closely with institutions and community on promoting the children rights. Sports teams/ play areas provide safe and supportive environment for children expression.
Sports activities provide healthy alternatives, drug and alcohol prevention, offers structure, care for orphans. The soccer clinic day in conjunction with Queen of Hope children at Botwa in Kaplamai division is one such activity.

TYSA is working on a visibility study on how sports can be agent of social change.

Through its Sports and Education program, TYSA sponsored especially Girls who are talented in sports bit from poor families to go through secondary education.

Sport and HIV/AIDS
Through our programs on HIV/AIDS, 4 components have been addressed: knowledge, life skills, access to services and safe environment.
TYSA continually organized sports tournaments with the theme on HIV /AIDS. During the events, young people get involved in forum theatre during half time.
Sports and Girls Empowerment
TYSA believes in gender parity and therefore has a special program focusing on the vulnerable girls. Over the last 5 years, over 30 girls have benefited from secondary school and college education scholarships. These girls are from single parent families, orphans, poverty stricken families, and Internally Displaced Families. There 60 such girls who are on our waiting for sponsorship. |
