Child Participation and Protection
TYSA endeavor to offer safe spaces for children. Our child focus programming has succeeded to bring the attention of parents, community and learning institutions to support and protect children rights.
Community safety nets have been strengthened and it is easy to track children movement. Over 100 children access TYSA care and support weekly.
The program has grown to embrace various stakeholders in child development.
It has built the capacities of children and parents to discuss openly issues affecting them.
The program is playing a vital coordination and consultative role in the schools and community where TYSA works
The program is addressing issues around monitoring, investigation and evaluation of child abuse cases. This has enabled to resolve the crisis which affected some of the beneficiaries in schools and families.
Children from TYSA participate and endorse various children related appeals including the Children Voices 2010.They participated actively in contributing to the Kenya Constitution 2010
In order to promote Children participation and protection, TYSA has creatively developed a junior and Youth assemblies.
This heavily borrows from the Kenyan constitution which has devolved government.
The Youth assembly has a parliament with a president while the junior assembly has senators.
